Germantown company is looking to add to their team of Toolmakers by hiring an experienced Journeyman Tool & Die Maker.  Open to full or part time or a retiree.  The facility is unique in that each toolmaker leads his/her project from start to finish through all phases of the manufacturing process / requirements. To maintain high tolerances we operate in an air conditioned facility.  Tool and Die Makers fabricate and repair gauges, jigs, fixtures, and construct progressive metal stamping dies to shape metal in stamping operations. This is highly customized, interesting work for the medical, aerospace, military/defense, electrical, automation, and automotive industries.  Perfect for someone who likes a challenge and the variety of rarely building the same tool twice.  Great work environment at a company that keeps at the forefront of technology.

Overtime paid after 8 hours worked in a day.

Responsibilities of the Journeyman Tool & Die Maker

  • Plan, manage and construct intricate tools, dies, fixtures, and gages to close tolerances from a set of prints

  • Setup and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, as necessary

  • Be a positive influence on your coworkers and contribute to a great work environment.


Requirements

Qualifications of the Journeyman Tool & Die Maker

  • Be comfortable in a high precision environment where tolerances are routinely 0.0001" - 0.0002"

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings

  • Familiarity with machine tools and equipment (Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Wire EDM, etc)

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Attention to detail
